What is Text To Speech?
Put simply, the name says it all. But if you're looking for more detail, we've got you covered. Text to speech is a form of speech synthesis, which is the artificial production of human speech. Software and hardware with TTS functions “read” and convert written text into speech. Text to speech converts your text into phonetic representations, and then converts that into waveforms that output as regular speech sounds.
Our text to speech engine is no different; it converts raw texts to written words and then assigns phonetic transcriptions to those words. Text to speech, also sometimes referred to as text to voice, is easily integrated into current marketing strategies across a variety of different industries. Businesses around the world have leveraged TTS for purposes ranging from marketing to education to recreation.
Speech synthesis has origins dating all the way back to the late 1700s, when a Russian professor made acoustic devices with vibrating reeds (similar to musical instruments) to artificially produce vowel sounds. Around that same time, an inventor from Vienna created a “speaking machine” that could product single sounds and limited sound combinations.
The first computer-based speech synthesis systems reportedly originated in the late 1950s, and the first full TTS system for English finally emerged in 1968. It was created by Noriko Umeda (with the help of a few colleagues) at the Electrotechnical Laboratory in Japan.
How Does CDYNE's Text to Speech Work?

Our API is a hosted, programmable web service that can send up to 12,000 tier-1 quality phone calls per minute. What is a WAV File?
WAV stands for Waveform Audio. These files are popular due to their high quality, uncompressed audio. They are also easy to access and convenient to use.
